Victory in Europe
75th Anniversary

My dear Brothers and Sisters, the 8th May 1945 will be ever etched upon the heart and soul of every loyal and faithful British man and women as we remember and give thanks for Victory in Europe. Our Nation although having to stand alone for 16 months had defeated the evils of Adolph Hitlers monstrous war machine and his jack-booted henchmen. Our then Prime Minister, Gods man for these dark days, Winston Churchill said on that day “This is your victory; it is the victory of the cause of freedom in every land. In all our history we have never seen a greater day than this.”
In remembering this triumph it is not our intention to glorify war or laud its victories at the expense and heroism of brave young men who courageously fought and died in our defence and secured our freedoms.
As Orange men and women who love, honour and respect our Country and all it stands for; as committed Christians, conscientious Protestants,
proud Scots who are passionately British we will ever give thanks for these valiant warriors who unhesitatingly and proudly gave their day for our tomorrow. The United Kingdom and its gallant people have fought two World Wars, dozens of conflicts, fought the evils of terrorism on every front, will ever dawn I pray, the “Whole armour of God.” standing bravely for His Righteousness His Justice and Truth and the defence of the oppressed and the weak; rightly it is said
“At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.”
