“Just a Thought”
(Please read John Ch.11:33-35)
When Jesus saw Mary weeping over the death of her brother Lazarus, he was overcome by emotion. This is a very important passage for us at this time when thousands of people are weeping, grieving for loved ones who have died as a result of the Corona-Virus. We see Jesus in his compassion, his concerns over our mourning and grief. His tears are a testimony to his humanity and a revelation of his heart of love for us.
Looking down the years Jesus saw the suffering, sorrow, tears and death that were to be the lot of man. His heart was grieved for the human family of all ages, of every land because of man’s rebellion against God. Jesus weeps with us in this pandemic and as men and women of faith we look to the consolation and coming of that better day as forecast in the book of Revelation CH21:3-4. “God will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will remove all of their sorrows and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. For the old world and its evils and pandemics are gone forever.” Mankind may rejoice in his great Scientific advances, his Technological revolution and its multiplicity of achievements but without a relationship to his Creator man is still a lost unfulfilled soul, and despite all Jesus accomplished for us at Calvarys Cross, He still weeps.
