Two Brethren from Loyal Sons of Ulster LOL 214, No 12 District, have walked the West Highland Way, raising £1,000 for the Dennistoun War Memorial appeal. Bro Bob Morrison and Bro Bryan McGovaney set off from MIlngavie at 6am on 15th September arriving at Inversnaid by the end of their first day. The second day took them as far a Bridge of Orchy where the pals took time out for a spot of fishing on Loch Tulla. Day three took them to the Glencoe ski resort where they took a break before pressing on to Kinlochleven. The final 15 miles to Fort William was covered on Day four, with a 4am start in order to catch the 11.40am train back to Glasgow. The two Brethren say it was “a great experience” and thank family and friends for the generous sponsorship that made the blisters worthwhile.
